Method of Making
Pentamethyldiethylenetriamine is generally obtained from diethylenetriamine for N-methylation. The methylation methods include formic acid/formaldehyde method and formaldehyde Hydrogenation etc.
Features and uses:
Pentamethyldiethylenetriamine is a highly active and strong foaming polyurethane catalyst, which can also be used to balance the overall foaming and gel reaction. It is widely used in various polyurethane rigid foams, including polyisocyanuric acid sheet rigid foams, and can also improve foam fluidity, so it can improve product production technology and product quality. Pentamethyldiethylenetriamine can also be used alone as a catalyst for polyurethane foam formulations, or it can be used in combination with other catalysts such as DNCHA. When used alone as a hard foam catalyst, the dosage range is 1.0-2.0 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of polyol. In addition to being used in rigid foam formulations, pentamethyldiethylenetriamine can also be used in the production of poly-rice polyurethane soft slab foam and molded foam.
