Honeywell’s Solstice® family honored with “2022 Carbon Neutral Solutions Award”
Latest News:
Recently, Honeywell’s Solstice® low-GWP series won the “Carbon Neutral Solution Award” at the 2022 International Green Zero Carbon Festival. Based on Honeywell’s breakthrough HFO technology, this family of products helps customers reduce their carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency without sacrificing end product performance. At present, Solstice® series products are widely used in industrial and commercial refrigeration, industrial and commercial air conditioners and heat pumps, vehicle air conditioners and heat pumps, foaming agents for thermal insulation materials, propellants for personal and household care products, and cleaning liquid solvents.
Honeywell foresaw the need for lower global warming potential (GWP) solutions more than a decade ago to help countries around the world fight climate change and has invested $1 billion in hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs) Technology research and development and expansion of production capacity. In recent years, based on the requirements of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, many countries and regions are gradually reducing the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). As the amendment officially entered into force in China in September 2021, many domestic industry customers are actively looking for reliable alternative solutions, reducing HFC emissions in stages, and responding to China’s efforts to achieve carbon peaks by 2030, Achieving a carbon neutral “two-carbon” goal by 2060.
Honeywell Solstice® Low GWP Series
Honeywell’s Solstice® low-GWP series of products are being widely used in the Chinese market. For example, in the automotive field, Honeywell provides HFO-1234yf refrigerant with ultra-low global warming potential to customers such as Volvo Cars and NIO in China, providing Chinese car owners with a lower-carbon driving environment; in biopharmaceuticals In the field, Sinopharm Holding Shanghai Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Sinopharm Group, adopted Honeywell’s low-GWP, high-energy-efficiency refrigerant Solstice® N40 (R-448A) in its vaccine cold storage expansion project in Shanghai. Stock up on various vaccines for use in the Shanghai area, including the Covid-19 vaccine.
Honeywell Sustainability Goals
Honeywell has a history of more than 100 years in the field of sustainable development, and about 60% of its products and technologies are related to environmental protection and energy efficiency. Honeywell pledged to achieve carbon neutrality goals for all business operations and facilities by 2035, and in April this year Honeywell further strengthened its sustainability commitments by including indirect carbon emissions from the value chain into its emissions reduction goals. In China, Honeywell continues to practice the development strategies of “East serves the East” and “East serves the world”. While striving to achieve the sustainable development goals set by Honeywell itself, with a series of mature technologies and Solutions help more Chinese partners and customers achieve sustainable development goals.
